For the record I thought Ball was a champ, he was not forced out of the club we wanted him. He just didn't want to work hard to get into the team. I can understand from Rossy's point as well. If you have an injured player return but your side has no fault cause you have not dropped a game. Who do you drop?? Most likely a bench player hence the reason of Ross rotating him on and off the bench for most of the year.
Again it comes down to performance not favorites.
Ball on the other hand would fit in nicely with the Pies seeing the were lacking an inside player in the midfield.
That being purely the reason why Ball left to get the opportunity. There were a lot of inside players at the Saints so he had to fight for his position and he didn't want to.
