GWS delist Tim Mohr.

"Tim has been with us from the start and was an important player during our early years as he notched up 48 AFL games, which is no small feat," Giants list manager Jason McCartney said.

Wednesday, 11 May 2016
Tim Mohr is set to play his first game since 2014 after the Giants confirmed he would play against Gold Coast on Saturday.

Mohr has not played since round 18, 2014, when he suffered the first of two successive knee reconstructions.

"It's been a long time coming and I'm just really excited to be back out there," Mohr said.

"I've done all the hard work now and it's time to show the coaches that I'm still up to AFL standard."

Tim Mohr ruptures the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for a second time.

The 26-year-old succumbed to the injury while playing for the UWS Giants in the NEAFL, just a month after returning from his first season-ending knee injury.

Giants football manager Graeme Allan said the club would continue to support Mohr.

"It's an unfortunate injury for Tim who's worked very hard to get himself back to full fitness," Allan said.

"Tim is a highly valued member of the Giants and the whole club is behind him as he looks to overcome this setback."

Tim Mohr has come through his first game back from a knee reconstruction with flying colours, but says his biggest battle – regaining his spot in the Giants' senior side – lies ahead.

With an arduous rehabilitation completed, the 26-year-old played a practice match for the Giants against the Sydney Swans reserves last week, and said it was a great feeling to be on the park again.

"It was a very, very long eight months for me," Mohr said.

"All you want to do is play, especially when you feel like your knee is good enough to go out there, but the fitness staff tell me it's not where we want it to be. It was very tough."

"They're very long days. It started to take a toll on me mentally, for sure."

Tuesday, 13 January 2015
Tim Mohr is on target for a round-one return from a knee reconstruction in the Giants' season-opener against St Kilda on April 5 at Etihad Stadium.

"Tim Mohr's looking to come back early in the season – he's probably looking to play round one actually," Giants co-captain Callan Ward said.

Tim Mohr's horror year with injury has come to a close with the Greater Western Sydney defender suffering a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Limited to just eight games this season due to foot and knee problems, Mohr suffered his latest injury in last Saturday's match against Geelong at Spotless Stadium.

He will undergo a full knee reconstruction with the Giants hopeful he can still return to the field in 2015.

"It's very unfortunate for Tim, but we are confident he can make a full recovery and resume playing football next year," GWS football manager Graeme Allan said in a statement.

Sunday, 22 June 2014
Tim Mohr says improved professionalism has been the catalyst behind his emergence as one of Greater Western Sydney's more important players.

"It's been good. It gets easier and easier every year for me," Mohr said.

"First year, I was 22, 23 years old, coming into an AFL system, a bit older, not knowing anyone and a bit as a raw footballer.

"I wasn't all that professional to be honest, but my last two years my professionalism has got heaps better and that's helped a lot."

Friday, 13 June 2014
Greater Western Sydney has re-signed two more players with defenders Tim Mohr and Lachie Plowman each committing to contract extensions that will keep them at the club until the end of 2016.

"Lachie Plowman has shown a lot of promise in his first 11 games for the club and Tim Mohr has become one of our most important players as a key defender," GWS general football manager Graeme Allan said.

"Their decision to commit to the Giants is a strong endorsement of the club."

GWS recruit Tim Mohr says Brendan Fevola was a great mentor in helping him to make it to the AFL.

"Fev was actually really, really good for my footy this year, he's a great teacher. He gave me the confidence to do things and pulled me aside and drill things into me," Mohr said.

"He'd tell me to use my pace and take the game on, so he was super for me. When you've got a bloke like him, who was an AFL star, telling me to use my pace and take the game on you sit up and listen to them."

Monday, 31 October 2011
Greater Western Sydney has signed Casey Scorpions defender Tim Mohr and young midfielder Adam Kennedy.

"He's a strong key position defender who can play centre half back or full back and that is a big asset for us," GWS national list and recruitment manager Stephen Silvagni said of Mohr.

"Adam was very unlucky not to have been picked up in last year's draft. To his credit he dealt with that setback and focused on working hard this year to again prove his ability as an over age player in the TAC Cup competition. He's a natural leader," Silvagni added on Kennedy.
