Justin Koschitzke says a two-match suspension for his off-the-ball hit on Collingwood youngster Jamie Elliott does not mean his career is over as suggested by media experts including former Essendon skipper Matthew Lloyd.

"I'm by no means done as a lot of people out there are jumping to some conclusions and saying," Koschitzke said.

"I've still got the year to go, we're still very young in the year and other people are going to get their chance.

"I'll be working pretty hard to get back out there and put the red, white and black on again and finish the year off on a positive note."

An incident involving St Kilda's Justin Koschitzke that left Magpie Jamie Elliott dazed during the second quarter of their round 6 clash at Etihad Stadium drew an angry response from sidelined Magpie Dayne Beams via Twitter.

"Fairly weak that by Justin Koschitzke," Beams tweeted before deleting his tweet.

Jamie Elliott and Jarrod Witts sign new deals to stay at Collingwood for two and three years respectively.

"Jamie, with almost 20 games under his belt now, is becoming one of the bright young players in the competition," Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said.

After a solid debut season in 2012, Jamie Elliott knows his spot is under threat until he becomes a better goalsneak.

"Playing the games I did last year means there is always expectations on how I am going to go this year, but it's more I have got a lot of expectations on myself so I have just got to dig in and do what I can do and hopefully that is enough," Elliott said.

"I can't have just one strength and it can't just be for marking so I have got to add more things to my game so tackling and forward-line pressure is one.

"I've seen myself as just a marking forward but I have got to add another part to my game - crumbing and finishing my work inside 50."

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has awarded small forward Alex Fasolo the No. 1 jumper for 2012.

Fasolo will have to relinquish his current No. 35 jumper to new draftee Jamie Elliot in keeping with the Magpies' tradition of giving that jumper to the club's first round draftee.

"Bucks wants me to have No.1, so hopefully I'll carry that well and I'm happy to be wearing it," Fasolo told the Herald Sun.

"I would have loved to have kept 35, but I guess we couldn't break tradition. That's all right, I'm sure Jamie Elliott will carry it well."
