"Earlier in the week Keegan presented with swelling in his arm," Gold Coast general manager of football Marcus Ashcroft said.

"Medical staff discovered a clot in the large vein in his arm and Keegan was subsequently admitted to hospital for ongoing investigation and management.

"Keegan will be required to remain in hospital for a few days and he will receive medication, which will preclude him from training and playing.

"Unfortunately, it is anticipated that Keegan will not play again this season."
