Nick Vlastuin receives a shock on the eve of the 2020 AFL Grand Final after learning that his coastal property had been suspiciously lit on fire.

"Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire which occurred in Torquay early Friday morning," Victoria Police said in a statement.

"Crews quickly brought the blaze under control and only the front entrance and porch were damaged. Police are yet to make any arrests and the investigation is ongoing."

Controversy erupts over footage of Richmond players allegedly groping each other during the singing of their theme song following wins over the Bulldogs and Brisbane.

The vision being circulated on social media shows Jayden Short allegedly grab at Mabior Chol's genitals following the win over the Western Bulldogs, and Nick Vlastuin grab at Chol's backside after the win over the Lions.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick abruptly cut short his press conference on Friday morning after veteran Network Ten reporter Hugh Riminton questioned the coach multiple times about the post-game incidents during the Tigers' theme song.

Nick Vlastuin signs a new two-year deal to remain at Richmond until the end of 2021.

"We always know what we're going to get when Nick takes [to] the field, he's a tough player and reads the play so well," Richmond's general manager of football Neil Balme said.

"Nick's also a great character with natural leadership qualities."

Sunday, 20 May 2018
Nick Vlastuin says he is enjoying being part of Richmond's backline in 2018, and remains second at the club for intercepts with an average of 7.5.

"Half the time, it's the forwards putting on pressure up the ground and it just falls into your lap. It's probably the easiest backline to play in, really," Vlastuin said.

"We've always got the ball moving forward and trying to lock it in the forward 50 so it makes it easier as a back."

Wednesday, 1 June 2016
Nick Vlastuin signs a three-year contract extension with Richmond that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2019.

Wednesday, 4 September 2013
Nick Vlastuin says he feels fortunate to be playing finals in his debut season when players such as teammate and veteran Chris Newman have had to wait much longer.

"Everyone has been saying how lucky I am, how fortunate," Vlastuin said on Wednesday.

"I followed Collingwood growing up, so there were plenty of finals with them.

"But then 'Newy' has waited 13 years, I think ... I couldn't imagine that."

Tuesday, 14 May 2013
Nick Vlastuin becomes the round 7 NAB AFL Rising Star nominee after tallying 23 disposals, 11 marks and a goal in a win against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

"He's an impressive individual there's no doubt," Hardwick said.

"He's got some areas of his game he still needs to work on, but I think he's a ready AFL player to a degree."
